How learning AI prompting is becoming a new skill that is changing established organizational practices

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem generativní umělé inteligence na tvorbu a adopci organizačních praktik. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí: teoretický základ, metodiku a praktickou část. Teoretický základ poskytuje potřebný kontext pro praktiky a jejich roli v organizacích. A také jak jsou praktiky v organizacích vytvářeny a šířeny. Hlavní pozornosti je věnována konceptu izomorfismu – když organizace kopírují praktiky jedna od druhé, na čemž je zdůvodněna nutnost výzkumu kolem digitálního artefaktu umělé inteligence, který nemá mnoho předchozích napodobitelných praktik. Proveden byl kvalitativní výzkum s 10 hloubkovými rozhovory s IT profesionály, který má poskytnout vhled do vytváření praktik založených na AI a jejich šíření a legitimizaci v organizacích. Empirická studie ukázala, že vytváření praktik založených na AI je v organizacích většinou proces řízený uživateli, kteří těží hlavně z přizpůsobivosti AI v různých případech použití. Zjištění této práce mohou být dále využita při výzkumu změn organizačních praktik nebo specifické povahy artefaktů generativní umělé inteligence v organizacích.

Abstract:

This Master’s Thesis studies the impact of generative artificial intelligence on the creation and adoption of organizational practices. The thesis is separated into three parts: theoretical background, methodology and a practical part. The theoretical background gives the necessary context for practices and their role in organizations. As well as how practices are created and diffused in organizations. Centring around the concept of isomorphism – organizations copying practices from one another, a case is made for the necessity of research around the digital artifact of AI, which does not have many prior practices to imitate. A qualitative field study is conducted with 10 in-depth interviews with IT professionals to give a perspective into the creation of AI-driven practices and their spread and legitimization in organizations. The empirical study showed that AI practice creation is mostly a user driven process in organizations, which benefits from the adaptability of AI across different use cases. The findings of this thesis can be further used in research about organizational practice change or the specific nature of generative artificial intelligence artifacts in organizations.
