Supervision of midwifes as an effective tool against burn-out

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřená na náročnost povolání porodních asistentek, pracujících na porodním sále a supervizi v této profesi. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda porodní asistentky mají možnost supervize a v případě že ne, zda by o ni měly zájem. Teoretická část se zabývá historií profese porodní asistentky, kdo porodní asistentka je a jaké má kompetence, jaká rizika s sebou tato profese nese a jak je náročná a stresující. Dále se zaměřuji na syndrom vyhoření a supervizi. V empirické části je proveden kvantitativní výzkum, pomocí dotazníku, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, zda porodní asistentky vědí, co je supervize a zda o ni stojí. Výsledky poukazují, že většina porodních asistentek pracujících na porodním sále považuje svou práci za velmi náročnou a tudíž by uvítaly možnosti supervize na svém pracovišti.

Abstract:

This work is focused on the demands of the profession of midwives working in the delivery room and supervision in this profession. The main objective was to determine whether midwives have the opportunity to be supervised and, if not, whether they are interested in the supervision. The theoretical part deals with the history of the profession of midwife, of the risks, challenges and stress behind this profession. I focused on the burnout and supervision. Quantitative research was performed In the empirical part of the work in which questionnaires designed to determine whether midwives know what supervision is and whether they are interested in supervision.. The main results suggest that the majority of midwives working in delivery room considered their work to be very demanding and therefore would welcome the possibility of supervision in the workplace.
