Impact of changes in oil prices on distinct groups of countries

Abstract:

V teoretické části bakalářské práce jsou představeny základní informace o ropě. První část práce popisuje dodavatelský řetězec ropy, jehož jednotlivé složky, jako je vznik, identifikace, těžba, transport nebo rafinování, ovlivňují finální cenu ropy. Poté je stručně popsána historie ropného trhu počínaje 19. stoletím. Následně jsou popsány konkrétní cenotvorné faktory a v závěru teoretické části je pozornost věnována pojmu EROEI. Praktická část zdůvodňuje výběr konkrétních sledovaných ekonomických subjektů. Dále je provedena ekonomická analýza těchto subjektů. Po analýze následuje popis a sestavení modelu lineární regrese, díky kterému je možno určit kauzalitu změn ropných cen na sledované makroekonomické proměnné a sestavit matematický model umožňující predikci. Poté následuje závěrečná interpretace naměřených výsledků a zhodnocení, seznam grafů, obrázků a tabulek.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the thesis introduces basic information about crude oil. The first part of the thesis presents the oil supply chain and it´s individual components such as the formation, identification, mining, transportation or refining, that influence the final price of crude oil. Furthermore, the history of the oil market from the 19th century is briefly described. Subsequently, specific pricing factors are characterized and at the end of the theoretical part, certain attention is paid to the term EROEI. The practical part explains the selection of specific observed economic subjects. Additionally, an economic analysis of these subjects is performed. The analysis is followed by a description and modeling of the linear regression, which makes it possible to determine the causality of oil price changes on the previously selected macroeconomic variables and to construct a mathematical model that allows prediction. This is followed by a final interpretation of the measured results and final evaluation, a list of graphs, figures and tables.
