Geographical diversification of Slovak election results. Case study: Bratislava and Orava region.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of the results of the parliamentary elections in the last two periods, specifically in the Orava region and in the capital Bratislava. The aim of this work is to point out the differences found in the election results and the various causes that led to the final results. The work deals with the issue of parliamentary elections in detail, describes the electoral system in Slovakia and compares the strongest political candidates. The key starting point of the bachelor thesis is to compare the results of elections in rural and urban environments using the theory of conflict lines.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zameriava na porovnanie výsledkov parlamentných volieb v posledných dvoch obdobiach a to konkrétne v regióne Orava a v hlavnom meste Bratislava. Cieľom práce je poukázať na zistené rozdiely vo výsledkoch volieb a na rôzne príčiny, ktoré viedli ku konečným výsledkom. Práca sa venuje otázke parlamentných volieb detailne, popisuje volebný systém na Slovensku a porovnáva najsilnejšie kandidujúce politické subjekty. Kľúčovým východiskom bakalárskej práce je porovnanie výsledkov volieb vo vidieckom a mestskom prostredí s použitím teórie konfliktných línií.
