Differences in preference among wine consumers in Prague

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na zjištění, jaké jsou hlavní preference konzumentů vína v Praze, a podle jakých kritérií si konzumenti víno kupují a jak se jejich spotřebitelské zvyklosti liší. Práce je rozdělena do několika částí. Teoretická část je vedena jako rešerše dostupných zdrojů a sběr informací, které byly v souvislosti se zadaným tématem shledány. Na základě údajů, zjištěných v rešerši byl designován dotazník pro analytickou část práce. Analytická část bakalářské práce je rozdělena na dvě části, v první části je popsáno dotazníkové kvantitativní šetření mezi vybranými konzumenty vína, jsou zde kvantifikovány výsledky dotazníkového šetření a na grafech je znázorněno procentní rozložení jednotlivých odpovědí. V druhém oddílu analytické části jsou popsány klíčové sledované oblasti, které bylo nutno dosledovat kvalitativním dotazováním odborníků. Na základě kvantitativního i kvalitativního dotazování tato bakalářská práce výsledně určuje dvě základní charakteristiky pražských konzumentů vína a jejich odlišnosti. Jednou skupinou jsou muži středního věku, dobře situovaní a vzdělaní zákazníci restaurací a vinoték, orientovaní v problematice vína. Druhou skupinou jsou ženy mladšího produktivního věku s průměrným příjmem, zákaznice supermarketového prodeje vín, orientující se podle etiket na lahvích. Bakalářská práce sleduje také společné charakteristiky obou popisovaných skupin konzumentů, tedy oblibu bílých suchých lahvových vín a stoupající konzumaci vína.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on finding out what are the main preferences of wine consumers in Prague and the criteria on which consumers buy wine and how their habits differ. The work is divided into several parts. The theoretical part consists of a research of all available resources and a collection of information connected with the topic. Based on the data from the research a questionnaire was designed for the analytical part of the thesis. The analytical part of the bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, the first part describes quantitative outcomes from the questionnaire among selected wine consumers, the results of the questionnaire survey are quantified and related graphs show the percentual distribution of individual answers. In the second part of the analytical part, the key monitored areas are described, which had to be further analyzed by qualitative questioning of experts. Based on quantitative and qualitative queries, this bachelor thesis results in two main characteristics of Prague wine consumers and their differences. One group of them are mostly middle-aged males, that are well-positioned and well-educated. These tend to be customers of restaurants and wine shops as well as being well-oriented in wine matters. The second group consists of women of younger productive age with average income. These tend to buy wine in supermarket wine sales, and are often influenced by a bottle’s label. The bachelor thesis also follows the common characteristics of the two groups of consumers, the popularity of white dry bottled wines and rising consumption of wine.
