Pension Reform in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je provést zmapování stávajícího stavu důchodového systému v ČR a predikce budoucího vývoje. Tato bakalářská práce přináší základní informace o stávajícím důchodovém systému České republiky včetně jeho historického vývoje, o metodách financování systému důchodového zabezpečení, doplňkovém penzijním připojištění, srovnání důchodových systémů ve vybraných zemích Evropské unie a především upozorňuje na nutnost penzijní reformy u nás. Identifikuje cesty a dosavadní průběh této reformy - její základní varianty, činnost Bezděkovy komise I. a II., vládní návrh reformy a návrhy jednotlivých politických stran. Závěr práce obsahuje část týkající se finančních a sociálních dopadů reformy na naši ekonomiku a rekapitulaci návrhu změn včetně časového harmonogramu dalšího postupu reformy. Součástí závěru práce je shrnutí problémových okruhů reformy a návrh ? řešení reformy do budoucna.

Abstract:

The aim of this Baccalaureate thesis was to conduct a survey of the current state of the Czech Republic?s pension system and to forecast its future development. This Baccalaureate thesis brings to light basic information about the Czech Republic?s current pension system, including its historical development, the methods of financing the system of pension scheme, supplementary pension insurance, inclusive of a comparison of the pension systems in selected European Union countries, and mainly draws attention to the need for pension reform in our country. It identifies the ways and existing course of this reform ? its basic variants, the activities of Mr. Bezděk?s committee I and II, the government´s reform proposal and the proposals of individual political parties. The concluding part of this thesis contains a section pertaining to the financial and social impacts of the reform on our economy, along with a recapitulation of the proposed changes, and a timetable of further progress of the reform. The conclusion also contains a summary of the reform?s problematic areas and a proposal ? solution to the reform for the future.
