Family and drug addiction

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o aspektech, které vedou k užívání drog z pohledu uživatelů drog. V teoretické části se zaměřuji na rodinu, jako jeden z možných faktorů ovlivňující užívání drog a základní funkce či výchovné styly rodiny. Dále zmiňuji další faktory, jako osobnost jedince, vrstevníky a školu. Další část práce definuje závislost, některé z návykových látek a možnosti prevence spolu s druhy léčby. Empirická část je směřována na kvantitativní šetření, konkrétně metodu dotazníkového šetření, prostřednictvím kterého se pokouším upřesnit prostředí rodiny, ve kterém respondenti vyrůstali. Poukazuji na příčiny, vedoucí k užívání drog i na vnímané benefity, které drogy mohou přinášet.

Abstract:

The thesis discusses the aspects that lead to drug use from the perspective of drug users. In the theoretical part I focus on the family as one of the possible factors influencing drug use and the basic functions or upbringing styles of the family. I also mention other factors such as the individual’s personality, peers and school. The next part of the paper defines addiction, some of the addictive substances and prevention options along with types of treatment. The empirical part is directed toward quantitative investigation, specifically the questionnaire survey method through which I try to specify the family environment in which the respondents grew up. I point out the causes leading to drug use as well as the perceived benefits that drugs can bring.
