Impact of highway transportation infrastructure on selected regional economic indicators

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na analýzu vlivu dálniční dopravní infrastruktury na vybrané ekonomické ukazatele na úrovni okresů České republiky. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda existuje vztah mezi výší hrubé mzdy a počtem alokovaných firem na úrovni okresů ke vzdálenosti od dálniční sítě. Byla stanovena hypotéza, která zní: "Dálniční dopravní infrastruktura výrazně ovlivňuje zvolené ekonomické ukazatele v regionech." Práce se zaměřuje především na analýzu několika dostupných ekonomických ukazatelů (např. průměrná hrubá mzda v jednotlivých okresech, počet ekonomických subjektů v jednotlivých okresech rozdělených dle velikosti na malé, střední a velké subjekty). Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část obsahuje základní informace o české dálniční síti, napojení jednotlivých regionů na ni, vztah dopravy a regionálního rozvoje a nastudované teorie, které souvisejí s uvedeným tématem. V praktické části je využito statistické a kartografické analýzy. Vstupní data jsou získána ze stránek ČSÚ a z internetové aplikace Mapy.cz. V úvodu je rozebrána použitá metodologie, na kterou navazuje provedený výzkum zadaného tématu. Výsledky, potvrzení či vyvrácení hypotézy, splnění cíle je poté shrnuto v závěru práce.

Abstract:

Thesis is focused on analyzing the impact of highway infrastructure on selected economic indicators at the district level of Czech Republic. The main object of the thesis is to determine whether exists relationship between a gross wages and number of firms allocated to the district level to the distance from highway infrastructure. Hypothesis was formulated: "The highway transport infrastructure significantly affects the selected economic indicators in regions." Thesis focuses on the analysis of several available economic indicators (eg. average gross wages, number of businesses divided by the size to small, medium and large in each district). Thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part contains basic information about Czech highway infrastructure and relationship between transport and regional development and rehearsed theories that relate to that topic. The practical part is used by statistical and cartographic analysis. Input data is obtained from ČSÚ and internet application Mapy.cz. In the introduction is analyzed methodology which is followed by the research of given topic. The results, confirmation or refutation of hypothesis and objective are summarized in the end of thesis.
