Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá problematikou fúzií a akvizícií v bankovom sektore po roku 2000. Prvá kapitola ja zameraná na teoretické vymedzenie pojmov fúzia a akvizícia a typy fúzií a akvizícií, históriu, priebeh, motívy a finančné vyrovnanie fúzií a akvizícií.
