Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the interpretation of the Gold Rush in Bret Harte?s short stories, and to characterise his writing style and instruments which he employs. The analysis is based on one of the most valued works ?The Luck of Roaring Camp? and ?The Outcast of Poker Flat?. Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza vybraných Hartových povídek, ve kterých bude brán zřetel na zachycení zlaté horečky a charakteristiku spisovatelova literárního stylu a prostředků, kterých využívá.
