People's Trust in Healthcare Provided by Telemedicine with a Specific Focus on Video Consultations

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa sústredí na výskum dôvery ľudí v zdravotnú starostlivosť poskytovanú prostredníctvom telemedicíny, predovšetkým vo forme videokonzultácie medzi lekárom a pacientom v Českej republike a Slovenskej republike. Prvá kapitola práce sumarizuje stanovené ciele a metodiku práce, na čo nadväzuje teoretická časť, ktorá vysvetľuje význam a súčasný rozvoj telemedicíny, špecifiká videokonzultácií a význam dôvery pri poskytovaní zdravotnej starostlivosti. Za účelom výskumu bolo vykonané dotazníkové šetrenie a jeho analýza prostredníctvom metód popisnej štatistiky, korelácie a asociácie vybraných premenných a štrukturálneho modelovania. Vykonaná konfirmačná faktorová analýza umožnila verifikovať modifikovaný TAM model (Technology Acceptance Model) v kontexte Českej republiky a Slovenskej republiky pri zameraní na videokonzultácie. Získané údaje a výsledky analýzy umožnili tvorbu a následnú kvantifikáciu teoretického modelu prínosov a nákladov videokonzultácií. V práci sú taktiež formulované opatrenia za účelom zvýšenia dôvery ľudí k videokonzultáciám a zámeru ich využívať.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on researching people's trust in healthcare provided through telemedicine, especially in the form of videoconferencing between doctors and patients in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The first chapter of the thesis summarizes the work's objectives and methodology, followed by the theoretical part that explains the meaning and current development of telemedicine, the specifics of videoconferencing, and the importance of trust in the delivery of healthcare. For the purpose of the research, a questionnaire survey was conducted and analyzed through the methods of descriptive statistics, correlation and association of selected variables and structural equation modelling. In addition, confirmatory factor analysis was performed to verify the modified TAM model (Technology Acceptance Model) in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, focusing on videoconferencing. The data obtained and the analysis results allowed the creation and subsequent quantification of a theoretical model of the benefits and costs of videoconferencing. The thesis also formulates measures in order to increase people's trust in videoconferencing and their intention to use them.
