The effect of the solution treatment temperature in the hardening process on the properties of Al-Si-Cu alloys

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá posouzením vlivu použité teploty rozpouštěcího žíhání v procesu precipitačního vytvrzování na výsledný nárůst mechanických vlastností odlitků ze slitiny Al-Si-Cu s různými obsahy mědi ve slitině. Těmito slitinami byly slitiny AlSi7Cu2 a AlSi7Cu4, přičemž zkoumanými vlastnostmi byla tvrdost měřená podle Brinella a mikrotvrdost měřená podle Vickerse. Dalším předmětem zkoumaní bylo pozorování změn v mikrostruktuře zkoumaných slitin způsobených precipitačním vytvrzováním. Teoretická část práce obsahuje popis problematiky slévárenských slitin Al-Si, precipitačního vytvrzování a měření tvrdosti a mikrotvrdosti. Experimentální část se věnuje přípravě vzorků, aplikovaným podmínkám precipitačního vytvrzování, měření tvrdosti a mikrotvrdosti a také mikroskopické analýze. Veškeré naměřené hodnoty jsou uvedeny v tabulkách a grafech a následně jsou diskutovány a porovnávány. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo posouzení různých teplot rozpouštěcího žíhání a jejich vlivu na tvrdost a mikrotvrdost.

Abstract:

The Bachelor's thesis studies assessment of the influence of used solution-annealing temperature in the precipitation-hardening process on the resulting increase in the mechanical properties of Al-Si-Cu alloy castings with different copper contents in the alloy. Used alloys were AlSi7Cu2 and AlSi7Cu4, the examined properties were hardness, measured according to Brinell and microhardness, measured according to Vickers. Another subject of research was the observation of changes in the microstructure of studied alloys caused by precipitation-hardening. The theoretical part of the thesis contains a description of the problem of Al-Si foundry alloys, precipitation-hardening and measuring of hardness and microhardness. The experimental part is focused on preparation of samples, applied conditions of precipitation-hardening, measuring of hardness a microhardness and also microscopic analysis. All measured values are presented in tables and graphs and are further discussed and compared. The main objective of Bachelor's thesis was the assessment of different temperatures of solution-annealing and their effect on hardness and microhardness.
