Matacognition in Students of Helping Professions

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou metakognice u studentů pomáhajících profesí. Práce se zaměřuje na vymezení pojmu metakognice, teorie metakognice a metakognici v různých specifických oblastech učení. S tímto pojmem se úzce pojí i autoregulace učení, o které se také zmiňujeme. Poslední část je věnována tématice pomáhajících profesí a problémům s ní spojených. V empirické části zkoumáme úroveň metakognice u studentů pomáhajících profesí. Zabýváme se také tím, zda existuje souvislost mezi úrovní metakognice a přístupem k řešení problémů. Snažíme se ověřit, do jaké míry souvisí úroveň metakognice s motivací studenta nebo jeho školní úspěšností.

Abstract:

The thesis addresses the issue of the metacognition of students in helping professions. It focuses on defining the concept of metacognition, theory of metacognition and metacognition in various specific areas of learning. This term is closely related to self-regulated learning, which will also be discussed. The final section is devoted to the topic of helping professions and problems associated with them. In the empirical part we assess the level of metacognition in students helping professions. We also examine a possible link between the student´s level of metacognition and their approaches to problem solving. We attempt to determine to what extent the level of metacognition relates to student motivation or success at school.
