Ochrana a mapování biologické diverzity je velice aktuálním tématem nejen na regionální, ale i na mezinárodní úrovni. Zvláště v posledních letech se množí hlasy volající po inventarizaci a ochraně globální biodiverzity. Ukazuje se, že stávající morfologický a fyziologický přístup k zařazování druhů není dostatečný. Mapping and preservation of global biodiversity is a very important issue these days. It has been named and classified about 1.5 milion of species, while estimated 10 - 30 milions of species remains undescribed.
