Cieľom práce bolo zoznámiť sa s princípmi servisne orientovaných systémov a návrhovými vzormi pre návrh softvérových architektúr. Práca sa zameriava na dostupnú literatúru k obom témam a identifikuje sadu vzorov vhodných k návrhu architektúr servisne orientovaných systémov.
