The main objective of this thesis is to examine and determine the authenticity of the portrayal of women in four films about the Titanic by means of looking at various aspects of characters’ lives, namely domestic life that comprises marriage and child-rearing; social life consisting of work, education and leisure; and code of conduct that includes manners and clothing.
