Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá historickým vývojom právnej úpravy dedičského práva. Prvá kapitola je zameraná na vysvetlenie základných pojmov, predmetu a významu dedenia. Druhá kapitola analyzuje vývoj dedenia podľa rímskeho práva. Tretia a štvrtá kapitola objasňuje problematiku historického vývoja v období stredoveku s akcentom na Uhorsko.
