Foreign Exchange Risk Management Project for the CZK/EUR Currency Pair in a Chosen Company

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá řízením devizového rizika měnového páru CZK/EUR u silně exportně orientovaného výrobního podniku. Cílem je analyzovat současný stav řízení devizového rizika měnového páru CZK/EUR a poskytnout znalosti a dovednosti managementu podniku, jak s tímto devizovým rizikem lze pracovat. První část práce je zaměřena na vybudování teoretického základu, tak aby uživatel této práce porozuměl devizovému trhu a devizovému riziku. V druhé praktické části je analyzován současný stav devizových rizik měnového páru CZK/EUR a zpracována fundamentální a technická analýza. Všechny předchozí části slouží jako podklad pro projektovou část, kde jsou konkrétní návrhy řešení, pravidel a postupů, jak pracovat s devizovým rizikem v krátkodobém a dlouhodobém časovém horizontu. Na konci práce jsou vyhodnoceny přínosy a rizika projektu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the foreign exchange risk management of the CZK/EUR currency pair of a strongly export-oriented manufacturing company. The aim is to analyse the current state of the foreign exchange risk management of the CZK/EUR currency pair and to provide the knowledge and skills to company management on how this foreign exchange risk can be managed. The first part of the thesis is focused on building a theoretical foundation so that the user of this thesis understands the foreign exchange market and foreign exchange risk. In the second practical part, the current state of foreign exchange risk of the CZK/EUR currency pair is analysed and fundamental and technical analysis is carried out. All the previous sections serve as a background for the project part, where specific proposals for solutions, rules and procedures for dealing with foreign exchange risk in the short and long term are presented. At the end of the paper, the benefits and risks of the project are evaluated.
