Spatial manifestations and practices of the Roman Catholic Church in the Ústí Region

Abstract:

Pro Ústecký kraj je charakteristické, že vykazuje jednu z nejnižších hodnot religiozity dle sčítání lidu, domů a bytů. Diplomová práce se touto problematikou zabývá, využívá dat o religiozitě z Českého statistického úřadu a sčítání účastníků bohoslužeb. Porovnává data kvantitativní s kvalitativním výzkumem, který byl zhotoven autorem této práce. Zvolené metody práce, mají za cíl objasnit charakteristiku projevů a praktik na území Ústeckého kraje. Komunikačními partnery pro kvalitativní výzkum byli zástupci římskokatolické církve (kněží) a věřící (laici). Rozhovor se týkal témat o setkávání věřících, prožívání víry, vztahu k jiným vírám, působení římskokatolické církve v Ústeckém kraji a poslední část byla věnována tématice sekularizace v tomto regionu. Práce se snaží o komparaci dat kvantitativních a kvalitativních. K dosažení cílů práce bylo využito především kvalitativního výzkumu za pomoci semi-strukturovaných rozhovorů a následné analýzy za pomocí zakotvené teorie.

Abstract:

Ústecký Region is characterized by the fact, that it has one of the lowest values of religiosity according to census SLDB. This thesis deals with this issue, uses data on religiosity from the Czech Statistical Office and compares these data with the qualitative research that was made by the author of this thesis. The selected methods of the master's thesis aim to clarify the characteristics of manifestations and practices of the Roman Catholic Church in the Ústecký Region. Communication partners for qualitative research were representatives of the Roman Catholic Church (priests) and believers (lay people). The conversation focused on the encounters of believers, the experience of faith, the relation to other beliefs, the activities of the Roman Catholic Church in the Ústecký Region, and the last part was devoted to the topic of secularization in this region. The thesis tries to compare quantitative and qualitative data. In order to achieve the objectives of the thesis, qualitative research was used mainly with the help of semi-structured interviews and subsequent analysis using the Grounded theory.
