Mormons and the polygamy

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou mnohoženství v Církvi Ježíše KristaSvatých posledních dnů, její minulostí i současností. Obsahuje část popisující historiicírkve, protože je pro samotný vývoj mnohoženství podstatná a zvláště je věnovánapozornost přímo historii polygamie. Pramenů, které popisují téma této práce, není v češtiněmnoho, a proto bylo čerpáno i ze zahraničních zdrojů. Dále byli osloveni informátoři z řadčlenů církve, kteří odpovídali na předem připravené dotazy i hovořili volně na dané téma.Metoda použitá pro získání informací od členů církve byl rozhovor, jehož technikou byloosobní setkání. Odpovědi z těchto rozhovorů jsou zahrnuty v celé práci, nejvíce však v jejíčásti vlastního výzkumu, pro který jsou stěžejním zdrojem informací. Práce tedy nenípouze teoretická a jejím přínosem je nejen zpracování tématu málo známého, ale hlavněobohacení o výpovědi informátorů, které pomáhají ke konkretizaci a dotvoření pohledu nadanou problematiku i v současnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis applies to polygyny in Church of Jesus Christ of Letter-DaySaints, its past and present. It contains part which describes history of church, because it issignificant for the very evolution of polygyny and the attention is especially given directlyto history of polygyny. There are not many sources in Czech language, which describe thetheme of thesis and that is why the foreign language sources had to be used. Then themembers of church were asked to answer questions prepared in advance and they alsospoke freely about that theme. The method used for gaining informations from churchmembers was interview, which technique was personal meeting. The answers from thisinterviews are included in the whole thesis, mostly in the part of research for which theyare main source of information. The thesis is not only theoretic and its contribution is notmerely composing little known theme. But its main benefits are answers of informers,which help to specificate and complete the view of this problem in the present.
