Extinct spas in the Czech Republic and the possibility of their revitalization

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zaniklých lázní v České republice a možností jejich revitalizace. Ze všech zaniklých lázní zaniklých v České republice byly pro práci vybrány tři v podobné lokalitě a to v Podkrušnohoří. Cílem práce je analýza zaniklých lázní v České republice a zkoumání projektů, úspěšných i neúspěšných, směřujících k revitalizaci některých zaniklých lázní. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí: teoretická, analytická a návrhová část. Teoretická část se věnuje vysvětlení základních pojmů jako je lázeňství, balneologie, přírodní léčivé zdroje. Také je zde zmíněna historie lázní v České republice a důvody zániku lázní či jak jsou využívány areály, ve kterých zanikla lázeňská činnost a v současné době fungují, ale s jiným využitím. Analytická část je rozdělena do tří podkapitol. Primárně autorka provedla vlastní terénní průzkum v daných lokalitách, zadruhé byly provedeny rozhovory se starostou města Klášterec nad Ohří, se starostou obce Kyselka, také s ředitelem společnosti Lázně Kyselka o.p.s. a se starostkou města Bíliny. Ve třetí části bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření v oblasti těchto tří zaniklých lázní a jejich okolí v Podkrušnohoří. Návrhová část obsahuje plány města Klášterec nad Ohří a obce Kyselka, které autorka konkretizovala. U lázní Bílina se jedná čistě o návrhy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of the defunct spas in the Czech Republic and the possibility of their revitalization. Of all the extinct spas in the Czech Republic, three were chosen for the thesis in a similar location, namely in the Podkrušnohoří region. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the extinct spas in the Czech Republic and to examine the projects, successful and unsuccessful, aimed at revitalisation of some of the extinct spas. The thesis is divided into three main parts: theoretical, analytical and design part. The theoretical part is devoted to the explanation of the basic concepts of spa, balneology, natural healing resources. It also mentions the history of spas in the Czech Republic and what were the reasons for the disappearance of spas or how the areas where spa activities have ceased and are currently operating, but with a different use. The analytical part is divided into three subchapters. Firstly, the author conducted her own field research in the localities in question, secondly, interviews were conducted with the mayor of Klášterec nad Ohří, the mayor of Kyselka, the director of the company Lázně Kyselka o.p.s. and the mayor of Bílina. The third part was a questionnaire survey in the area of these three defunct spas and their surroundings in the Podkrušnohoří region. The design part contains plans of the town of Klášterec nad Ohří and the village of Kyselka, which were made more specific by the author. In the case of the Bílina Spa, there are only suggestions.
