The role of international organizations is for the resolution of the humanitarian crisis in Haiti

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o mezinárodních organizacích a jejich roli při řešení humanitární krize na Haiti, která vznikla po ničivém zemětřesení dne 12. 1. 2010. V práci popisuji historii Haitské republiky, neboť ta nám odpoví na otázku, proč bylo zemětřesení natolik zničující a proč následky narostly do tak gigantických rozměrů. Hlavní téma práce je zaměřeno na činnost mezinárodních vládních, nevládních a hybridních organizací a Evropské unie. Analýza vybraných mezinárodních organizací ukáže, co je pro danou organizaci hlavní náplní pomoci, s jakými problémy se tyto organizace potýkaly ihned po zemětřesení a s jakými se potýkají doposud. Cílem této práce není nalezení optimálního modelu humanitární pomoci, neboť to je dlouhodobým úkolem povolanějších lidí, ale spíš odhalení rezerv v efektivitě a koordinaci pomoci jednotlivých organizací.

Abstract:

This bachelor´s work degree is about international organizations and their role in resolution the humanitarian crisis in Haiti which started of the devastating earthquake on 12. 1. 2010. In this work I describe the history of Haitis Republic, because is answers the question, why the earthquake was so destructure and why the consequences grew to gigantic propotions. The capital theme of the work is specialized on activity by the European Union, international governmental, non governmental and hybrid organizations. The analysis of select international organizations produces which is the capital concerns are for help by existing organizations, with chat problems They faced after the earthquake and still face now. The objektive of this work is not to find an optimal model for humanitarian help, because this is the long term group of people for the aid agences, but rather delection rezerves in effectivity and in coordination help of separate organizations.
