Chat fiction as a new narrative medium

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Chat fiction jako nové narativní médium mapuje aktuální nabídku aplikací, které umožňují četbu chat fiction, příběhů psaných formou elektronické komunikace. V první části práce jsou popsány tři nejpopulárnější chat fiction aplikace, a to Hooked, Yarn a Tap by Wattpad, pak je dále věnován prostor české aplikaci Storki a knize Navždycky a Miluji Tě. Já vím. Popis aplikací a vlastností elektronické komunikace, na kterou je zaměřená druhá část práce, tak přispívají k lepšímu vymezení pojmu chat fiction a roli textové komunikace ve vyprávění příběhů. Poslední část je pak věnována tendencím využívání komunikačních médií jako útvaru v literatuře, proměnám čtenářství v době Webu 2.0 a zařazení chat fiction do proudu elektronické literatury.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis "Chat fiction as a new narrative medium" maps the current offer of applications, which enable reading chat fiction, stories written in the form of electronic communication. In the first part of the work, three most popular chat fiction applications are described. Those are: Hooked, Yarn, and Tap by Wattpad. Then there is space for the Czech app Storki and the books "Navždycky" and "Miluji tě. Já vím." The description of the applications and features of electronic communication, which the second part of the work focuses on, contribute to a better definition of the term "chat fiction" and the role of textual communication in storytelling. The last part deals with the tendencies to use communication media as a literary form, the changes in reading in the time of Web 2.0 and the position of chat fiction among electronic literature.
