Předpokládá se, že thyreoidální hormony (TH) ovlivňují aktivitu některých neurotransmiterů (např. serotoninu), jež jsou hypoteticky zahrnuty v patogenezi deprese, a jež také zpětnovazebně regulují produkci TH. Abstract:
Thyroid hormones (TH) are supposed to control the activity of some neurotransmitters (e.g. serotonin), which are hypothetically involved in the pathogenesis of depressive illness and also in the feed-back regulation of TH production.
