Selected families of saproxylic beetles (Elateridae, Eucnemidae, Throscidae, Cerambycidae) of a neglected coppice in the National Nature Reserve Zahrady pod Hájem

Abstract:

Výmladkové lesy poskytují vhodné podmínky pro mnoho druhů saproxylických organismů. Tato prostředí téměř vymizela, ale v poslední době se vrací zpět do popředí zájmů. V této práci byly pomocí letových nárazových pastí na dvou lokalitách v NPR Zahrady pod Hájem zkoumáni brouci čeledí Elateridae, Eucnemidae, Throscidae a Cerambycidae. Hlavním cílem bylo popsat taxocenózu brouků těchto čeledí v předržené pařezině před plánovanou obnovou pařezinového hospodaření a s ní spojeném prosvětlení lesa. Druhové složení zachycených brouků bylo posouzeno z hlediska ekologických nároků druhů a ochranářského významu lokality. Během let 2013 a 2014 bylo celkem zachyceno 1026 jedinců brouků náležících ke 53 druhům. Odhad celkového počtu druhů pomocí algoritmu Chao 1 je 65. Brouci byli zařazeni do skupin podle druhu potravních nároků, nejčastější byly druhy fytofágní a xylofágní. Celkem bylo zachyceno 21 druhů zapsaných v červeném seznamu. Vysoký počet ohrožených druhů ukazuje, že lokality jsou ochranářsky významné.

Abstract:

Coppiced forests provide the right conditions for many species of saproxylic organisms. This enviroment has almost disappeared but recently is returning to the forefront of interest. In this thesis beetles from the families Elateridae, Eucnemidae, Throscidae and Cerambycidae were studied at two sites in the Zahrady pod Hájem National Nature Reserve using flight-interception traps. The main aim was to describe the taxocenosis of beetles in these families in neglected coppices before the planned restoration of coppicing associated with light enrichment. The species composition of the collected beetles was evaluated in terms of ecological requirements of species and conservation value of the locality. During the years 2013 and 2014 1026 individuals belonging to 53 species were collected. The total estimated number of species, based on the Chao 1 estimator, is 65. Beetles were assigned to groups according to trophic type, the most common were phytophagous and xylophagous species. Altogether 21 of the collected beetle species are listed in Red Data Book of Czech Republic. The high number of endangered species shows that the sites are significant for conservation.
