The Dalai Lama XIV. as the secular and spiritual leader of Tibet

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza role současného čtrnáctého dalajlamy Tändzina Gjamccha. V úvodní části práce je nastíněn vznik a vývoj instituce dalajlamy a také původ, význam samotného titulu dalajlama. V této části jsou stručně zmíněni nejdůležitější nositelé titulu dalajlama a jejich význam v historickém kontextu. Prostor je věnován především pátému dalajlamovi a jeho upevnění světské moci v Tibetu, dále jsou zmíněny zahraniční snahy třináctého dalajlamy o neutralitu během tzv. Velké hry. Ve druhé části práce je prostor věnován životu čtrnáctého dalajlamy a nejdůležitějším událostem, které proběhly v Tibetu od uvedení čtrnáctého dalajlamy do funkce. Postup je chronologický od jeho nalezení jako převtělence předchozího dalajlamy, po převzetí politické odpovědnosti při okupaci čínské armády. Závěr práce je věnován působení dalajlamy v indickém exilu a politické angažovanosti v mezinárodní politice.

Abstract:

Subject to this work is the person of the current fourteenth Dalai Lama Tändzin Gyatso. First Chapter deals with the history of the institute of Dalai Lama. First there is the creation and development of the institute as well as the importance of the title. In this part there are mentioned some of the most important bearers of the Dalai Lama title and their importance in history. Space was designated to the fifth Dalai Lama and his importance regarding grasping earthly power. Also there is a great deal of focus on the thirteenth Dalai Lama's foreign persuading of neutrality during the so called "The Great Game". The second part focuses solely on the life of the fourteenth Dalai Lama as well as some most important events of his reign. There are subchapters such as about finding the Dalai Lama as a reincarnation of the previous one as well as his education. Next one deals with his taking over the Office and the problems caused by the Chinese occupation. The conclusion is about Dalai Lama's escape to India and his exile work
