Macroeconomic Importance of Inflation and its Development in Selected Countries

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce „Makroekonomický význam inflace a zhodnocení jejího vývoje ve vybraných zemích“ je analýza vývoje inflace a stagflace v USA v období ropné krize 1973 – 1975 a predikace vývoje inflace v USA. V diplomové práci jsou také analyzovány příčiny deflace v Japonsku v období od roku 1990. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola je zaměřena na definování pojmů inflace, deflace, dezinflace a stagflace a dále popisuje jejich princip, chování a vliv na ekonomiku. Druhá kapitola se zabývá makroekonomickým významem inflace, jejím dopadem na ekonomiku a nástroji fiskální a monetární politiky. Třetí kapitola se zabývá analýzou a zhodnocením inflace ve vybraných zemích. Popisuje vývoj inflace a stagflace v USA v období ropné krize 1973 – 1975, analyzuje příčiny deflace v Japonsku v období od roku 1990 včetně predikce jejího vývoje. Závěr kapitoly je věnován predikci vývoje inflace v USA na období 2013 – 2014.

Abstract:

The thesis “Macroeconomic consequence of inflation and analysis of inflation development in certain countries” aims to analyze the development of inflation and stagflation in the U.S.A. in the period of the crude oil crisis 1973 – 1975, and the predictions about the inflation development in the U.S.A.. The thesis also contains analysis of the causes of the deflation in Japan since 1990. This thesis is divided into three sections. The first section is focused on defining the concepts of inflation, deflation, disinflation and stagflation, and it describes their principles, behaviour and their effects on the economy. The second section deals with macroeconomic consequence of inflation, its impact on the economy, and it also deals with tools of fiscal and monetary policies. The third section deals with analysis and assessment of the inflation in certain countries. It describes the development of inflation and stagflation in the U.S.A. in the period of crude oil crisis 1973 – 1975, analyzes causes of deflation in Japan since 1990 including predication of the future development. The final section is devoted to predictions of the inflation development in the U.S.A. for the period 2013 – 2014.
