Kinematic analysis of karate techniques

Abstract:

Kopeček, David, Bc. Kinematická analýza technik karate. Diplomová práce. Brno: FSpS, 2010, 61stran. Práce se zabývá kinematickou analýzou technik v karate, konkrétně technikou úderu Gjaku cuki. Popisuje její provedení, které je teoreticky vykládáno různými odbornými publikacemi pro laickou veřejnost i odborníky. Technika je popsána i z hlediska biomechaniky a zapojení hlavních svalových skupin. Tato teoretická rovina je pak srovnávána se skutečným provedením techniky testovanou osobou. Práce pak podrobně analyzuje pohyby jednotlivých segmentů těla, úhly mezi nimi a zkoumá proměnné jako rychlost, zrychlení, pohyb těžiště, délka úderu. Tyto výsledky jsou pak částečně porovnány s měřeními jiných autorů a poté jsou zkoumány rozdíly ve výsledcích analýzy úderů pravou a levou paží jako metoda, která napomáhá určit dominantní paži. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty získané poznatky z kinematické analýzy a podány návrhy na další zkoumání technik v karate a ukázány rozdíly mezi jednotlivými styly a provedeními z hlediska tradičního a sportovního pojetí karate.

Kopeček, David, Bc. Kinematic analysis of karate techniques. Thesis. Brno: FSpS, 2010, 61pages. This thesis deals with kinematic analysis techniques in karate, specifically stroke technique Gjaku cuki. Describes its implementation, which is theoretically interpreted in various professional publications for the general public and professionals. The technique is described in terms of biomechanics and the involvement of the major muscle groups. This theoretical level is then compared to the actual performance of the individual techniques. Work then analyzes in detail the movements of individual body segments, the angles between them and examines parameters such as speed, acceleration, motion of gravity, length of contact. These results are compared with some measurements of other authors and are examined differences in the results of the analysis of strokes of left and right arm as a method that helps identify the dominant arm. The conclusion summarizes the findings got from the kinematic analysis and made suggestions for further exploration of techniques in karate and shown differences between different styles and performing in terms of traditional and sport karate concepts.
