Foreign Exhibitions in the House of Art for the Directorate of Adolf Kroupa

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá zahraničními a mezinárodními výstavami, které proběhly v brněnském Domě umění za ředitelství Adolfa Kroupy v letech 1954 - 1971. V první řadě se zabývám životem Adolfa Kroupy a analyzuji jeho vztah k výtvarnému umění. Ve druhé kapitole řeším kulturní a politickou problematiku a jejich dopady na fungování Domu umění. Poslední kapitola je věnována zahraničním výstavám, které se staly ve vybraném období významnými jak z pohledu návštěvnosti, mediální pozornosti, tak i z pohledu mezinárodních vztahů v oblasti kultury.

Abstract:

This work deals with foreign and international exhibitions in House of Arts in Brno for the Directorate of Adolf Kroupa between the years 1954 - 1971. First of all, I deal with the life of Adolf Kroupa and analyze its relationship to the fine arts. In the second chapter I solve a cultural and political issues and their impact on the functioning of the House of Arts. The last chapter is devoted to foreign exhibitions, which have become prominent in the selected period from the perspective of attendance, media attention, and from the perspective of international relations in the field of culture.
