Abstract:

Táto diplomová práca rozpráva príbeh sebaskúsenosti v terapeutickom výcviku v inom kultúrnom prostredí na Inštitúte Kanankil v Mexiku. Nejedná sa o pozitivistickú štúdiu, ale skor o seba-reflexívny etnografický príbeh, v ktorom sa nové významy a porozumenie vynárajú počas procesu písania. Ten inšpirovalo množstvo zdrojov a taktiež množstvo hlasov. Kedykoľvek to bolo možné, sú tieto v texte prítomné. Počnúc epistemologickými voľbami predstavuje táto práca konceptuálnu bázu a následný autoetnografický príbeh. Hovorí o osobnej terapeutickej skúsenosti terapeutov, videnej prizmou systemických prístupov v psychoterapii. Dotýka sa témy kultúry ako v terapeutickom výcviku tak aj v samotnej praxi. Vymedzuje sa voči inštrumentálnemu chápaniu kultúrnej citlivosti ako súboru informácií a kompetencií, ktoré terapeut má o iných kultúrach a ponúka porozumenie citlivosti zakotvené v rekonceptualizácii pojmu kultúry ako každonennej siete významov. Zároveň ponúka aj alternatívne uchopenie multiplicity jazykov v terapii, keď sa posúva od zamerania sa na ťažkosti a jazyk ako bariéry ku vnímaniu multiplicity jazykov ako mnohosť zdrojov pre vzájomné učenie a porozumenie. V analytickej časti, prítomnej vo forme príbehu, najskôr navštívime Kanankil a skúsenosť s učením sa, ktoré vedie ako ku vzťahovému rastu tak aj ku osobnému uchopeniu teoretických konceptov. Následne sa stretneme s klientmi a dotkneme sa toho, aké dôležité je vážiť si ich každodennú skúsenosť. Výsledkom reflektovania interkultúrnej sebaskúsenosti je potom zážitok mnohosti kultúr, citlivosť voči jazyku a slovám, ktoré používame a uvedomenie si toho, že naše odlišnosti sú v tiež našimi najcennejšími zdrojmi.

Abstract:

This thesis narrates a story of undergoing a psychotherapeutic training in a different cultural environment at the Kanankil Institute in Mexico. It is not a positivistic study but rather a self reflexive ethnographic story during which new meanings and understandings emerge in the process of writing. The writing was inspired by a plurality of sources as much as a plurality of voices. Whenever possible these are present in the final text. Opened by epistemological choices, this thesis then presents a conceptual basis for the consequent autoethnographic story. It presents the personal therapeutic experience of the therapist, as seen in systemic approaches. It tackles the issues of culture in the therapeutic training and practice and makes a distinction between an instrumental understanding of cultural sensitivity as a set of information and competencies regarding different cultures on one hand and sensitivity grounded in the re-conceptualization of the notion of culture as everyday meaning structures on the other. At the same time it revisits the understanding of multiplicity of languages in the therapeutic encounter and, doing so, moves away from focusing on difficulties and the notion of language as a barrier towards seeing multiplicity of languages as a multiplicity of resources for mutual learning and understanding. In the analysis, present in the form of a story, we first revisit the learning experience at the Kanankil Institute and learn about both relational growth and personal appropriation of therapeutic concepts. Then we meet the clients and explain the importance of honoring their everyday experience. The final result of engaging with the personal intercultural experience of therapeutic training reminds of the manifold varieties of cultures, invites to become more sensitive to language and shows how our differences are, most of all, invaluable resources.
