The role of the social worker in coping with energy povery from the perspective of single parent families

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit a popsat, jak chápou samoživitelé roli sociálního pracovníka při zvládání energetické chudoby. Teoretická část je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola vymezuje reorganizaci společnosti a vznik sociálních rizik. Zvláštní důraz je kladen na rizika ve vztahu k rodinnému soužití. V souvislosti s tím, jsou představené proměny rodiny a vznik samoživitelství. Následující kapitola definuje problematiku energetické chudoby. Úvod tvoří základní vhled do problematiky chudoby. Další část pojednává o energetické chudobě v EU, vně EU a na území České republiky. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je zaměřená na obor sociální práce. Objasňuje sociální práci v kontextu modernizace, současné definice, a zvláště roli sociálního pracovníka a obor sociální práce s rodinou. Metodologická část je zpracována kvalitativní výzkumnou strategií, a to metodou zakotvené teorie. Sběr dat probíhal technikou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Závěrem jsou demonstrované výsledky tohoto výzkumu.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to explore and describe how lone parents understand the role of the social worker in addressing fuel poverty. The theoretical section is divided into three chapters. The first chapter defines social reorganisation and the emergence of social risks. Special emphasis is placed on risks in relation to family cohabitation. In this context, the transformation of the family and the emergence of single parenthood are presented. The following chapter defines the issue of energy poverty. The introduction provides a basic insight into the issue of poverty. The next section discusses energy poverty in the EU, outside the EU and in the Czech Republic. The last chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the field of social work. It explains social work in the context of modernisation, contemporary definitions and in particular the role of the social worker and the field of social work with families. The methodological part is elaborated with a qualitative research strategy, namely the grounded theory method. The data collection was conducted using a semi-structured interview technique. In the conclusion, the results of this research are demonstrated.
