Abstract:
Tato práce rozebírá novelu Girl Meets Boy od Ali Smith a román Middlesex od Jeffreyho Eugenidese. Zabývá sa především zobrazením postav, které nezapadají do tradičních kategórií muž/žena a mužský/ženský. Věnuje sa také motivu vypravěčství v obou dílech a jeho vlivem na to, jak o sobě protagonisté smýšlejí a na jejich schopnost přijmout sami sebe a další postavy.
Abstract:
This thesis analyses Ali Smith’s novella Girl Meets Boy and Jeffrey Eugenides’s novel Middlesex, focusing on the portrayal of characters whose sex or gender does not fit into the traditional binaries of male/female and masculine/feminine.
