Abstract:

Předkládaná disertační práce si klade za cíl představit koncept zhodnocení reakce fortifikačních systémů českých hradů na nástup palných zbraní. V rámci české castellologie se jedná o systematicky málo probádaný, ale pozornosti hodný aspekt vývoje opevněných sídel. Tématu byla věnována značná pozornost v celé řada publikací a odborných článků, jednalo se však o případové studie či jejich kompendia, které však nejsou schopné tento vývoj postihnout v jeho plném analytickém potenciálu. Prostředkem k dosažení takového poznání je rozsáhlá databáze, založená na teoretickém rámci a jasně vymezených definicích pojmů. Výsledky databáze jsou pak podrobovány statistickému zpracování, které svými výsledky potvrzuje či vyvrací stanovené hypotézy. Za pomoci formalizovaných metod se odhalují skryté struktury ukryté ve změti dat týkající se fortifikační architektury a její reakce na palné zbraně. Výsledkem je vlastní model vývoje, stanovení návrhu typologie a sledování jednotlivých lokalit v charakteristice i v čase. Hlavním cílem práce je návrh alternativního postupu v rámci české castellologie, který může být aplikován i v jiných sférách oboru a s rozvojem znalostí ho rozšířit o poznatky jiným způsobem neviditelné.

Abstract:

The presented dissertation thesis aims to present the concept of evaluation of fortification components of Bohemian castles and their reaction to firearms. This approach is not very common within the Czech castellology, but it definitely deserves deeper understanding and its appliance in the field of interest. The core aspect of the development of fortified entities has been described before in papers, articles and monographs of compendium character which undoubtedly serve as a good framework of knowledge but cannot grasp the full analytical potential hidden in the data. The means to reach such a goal is an extended database based on theoretical framework and clear definition of crucial terms which have to be done first. The theoretical model of overall development based on current knowledge must also be done for us to be able to state basic hypotheses which need to be tested. Gathered data is thereafter subjected to statistical process which either confirms or refutes the stated hypotheses. With the help of formalized methods, previously unseen structures are to be found, hidden in the tangle of fortification architecture data. The final result is the deeper understanding of structures, trends and formalization processes which are observable in characteristics and time. However, this is not the end of the process the data must be verified by qualities not originally presented into the database. This can help us to describe our own model of development and state the typology supported by hard data in the form of observable trends. The main aim of the thesis is to propose an alternative approach in the framework of Czech castellology, which could be applied in different contexts of the field, observing different qualities and states different type of development of the structures. It undoubtedly holds the potential to widen our knowledge by findings unseen by other approaches
