Abstract:

JURČOVÁ, Marcela Ing.: A survey of the level of information security awareness between students of high schools and universities. [Diploma thesis]. Banking Institute College of Banking Prague, a Foreign University Banská Bystrica. Department of Quantitative Methods and Computer Science. Supervisor: Ing. Radoslav Forgáč, PhD. Year of defense: 2013. Number of pages: 76. This thesis presents research on information security awareness among students of secondary schools and universities. The survey was focused on social engineering. The first chapter provides an overview of selected surveys of information security. The second chapter provides basic information about the importance of information security, presents a problem of expanding social engineering, explains the reasons for targeting research in this area and also inform about the possibilities of protection against social engineering. The third chapter focuses on specifying the objective of the survey and the explanation of used research methods. The fourth chapter brings concrete results of the survey among students of secondary schools and universities and this chapter also provides suggestions for improvement of students information security awareness.

Počet strán: 76. Diplomová práca sa zaoberá prieskumom povedomia o informačnej bezpečnosti medzi študentmi stredných a vysokých škôl. Prieskum je zameraný na oblasť sociálneho inžinierstva. V prvej kapitole je uvedený prehľad vybraných prieskumov informačnej bezpečnosti. Druhá kapitola prináša základné informácie o význame informačnej bezpečnosti, približuje problém rýchlo sa rozvíjajúceho sociálneho inžinierstva, vysvetľuje dôvody zamerania prieskumu na túto oblasť a zároveň informuje o možnostiach ochrany voči sociálnemu inžinierstvu. Tretia kapitola je zameraná na špecifikovanie cieľa prieskumu a vysvetlenie použitej prieskumnej metódy. V štvrtej kapitole sú spracované konkrétne výsledky uskutočneného prieskumu medzi študentmi stredných i vysokých škôl a návrhy možného zvýšenia povedomia študentov o informačnej bezpečnosti.
