Abstract:
This bachelor thesis is focused on a translation of an English popular scientific text into the Czech language. A social geographic article from National Geographic magazine was chosen as a source text. The translation itself is preceded by stylistic analysis together with an analysis of typical features of popular scientific texts. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem anglického populárně naučného textu do českého jazyka. Jako výchozí text byl vybrán článek z časopisu National Geographic se sociálně geografickou tématikou. Samotnému překladu předchází všestranná stylistická analýza spolu s analýzou typických znaků populárně naučných textů.
