The White Rose - an Example of Resistance to the National Socialist Regime in Germany

Abstract:

The present thesis deals with The White Rose as an Example of Resistance to the National Socialist Regime in Germany. In the first part, the historical events and contexts are explained, which led to the formation of the resistance movement. The main focus of this work is on the resistance group White Rose, its members, motivation and activity. The legal proceedings with the members of this group in 1943 are analysed in detail. Finally, the significance of this group and its inheritance is mentioned from today's point of view.

Abstract:

Die vorliegende Abschlussarbeit befasst sich mit dem Widerstand während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus in Deutschland. Zuerst werden die historischen Ereignisse und Zusammenhänge erklärt, die zur Entstehung des Widerstandes führten. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt auf der Widerstandsgruppe Weiße Rose, ihren Mitglieder, ihrer Motivation und ihrer Tätigkeit. Die Gerichtsverhandlungen mit den Mitgliedern im Jahr 1943 werden ausführlich analysiert. Zum Schluss wird über die Bedeutung der Gruppe und ihren Nachlass im heutigen Deutschland berichtet.
