The Socialist Yugoslavia Political System from the View of Non-Democratic Regimes Theory

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Politický systém socialistické Jugoslávie z pohledu teorie nedemokratických režimů“ se zabývá zhodnocením politického systému Titovy Jugoslávie v letech 1944 až 1980. Jako kritéria jsou přitom použity Linzovy charakteristiky autoritativního režimu, tj. osa monismus – pluralismus, ideologie – mentalita, politizace – depolitizace, typ vůdcovství a mezinárodní postavení. V obecné části jsou kromě základního pojmosloví z oblasti teorie nedemokratických režimů nejprve rozebrány ústavní vývoj socialistické Jugoslávie a postavení nejvyšších státních orgánů. Dále autor hodnotí, v jaké míře byly uvedené Linzovy znaky autoritativních režimů v období 1944 – 1980 v případě socialistické Jugoslávie naplněny. Cílem práce je především zasazení socialistické Jugoslávie v letech 1944 - 1980 do Linzovy typologie nedemokratických režimů a poté porovnání příslušných závěrů s názory uvedenými v práci Ladislava Cabady „Byla Titova Jugoslávie totalitním státem?“ uveřejněné v roce 2005 ve sborníku Totalitarismus.

Abstract:

The bachelor paper "The Socialist Yugoslavia Political System from the view of the Non-Democracy Regimes Theory" deals with the polical system which existed in the era of Tito's Yugoslavia from 1944 to 1980. As the basic criterias the Linz's characteristics of the authoritarian regime are used, i.e. monism – pluralism, ideology – mentality, politicization - depoliticization, the leadership type and the international position. In the general part the constitutional development of the socialist Yugoslavia is briefly described as well as the highest constitutional bodies position. In the following part the author examines the level up to which the Lin's authoritarian regime characteristics were matched in the case of the socialist Yugoslavie from 1944 to 1980. The basic aim of the paper is to put the socialist Yugoslavia in the era from 1944 to 1980 to the Linz's authoritarian regimes typology and then to compare the author's conslusions with the Ladislav Cabada's view in the article „Was Tito's Yugoslavia a totalitarian state?“ published in the collective volume Totalitarism in 2005.
