Characteristics of love poetry and political poetry of Tamim Al Barghuthi

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je seznámit čtenáře se životem a dílem jednoho z nejvýznamnějších současných básníků, Tamíma al-Barghouthiho. Tato práce poskytne informace o nejdůležitějších událostech v životě jeho rodičů, intelektuálů i literátů, dále jeho vlastní biografii a poté analyzuje část jeho milostné a politické poezie. Práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí, kterými jsou autorova biografie a jeho milostná a politická poezie. Ve druhé a třetí části se práce zabývá překladem a analýzou jednotlivých básní a umožňuje jim porozumět. Tamim al-Barghouthi píše v klasické arabštině i v hovorových dialektech Palestiny a Egypta. Zatímco jeho milostná poezie je většinou v klasické arabštině, jeho politická poezie se diverzifikuje mezi hovorovým a klasickým arabským jazykem. Tato práce poskytuje vhled do jeho práce a analyzuje charakteristiky jak milostné, tak politické poezie. Závěrem lze říci, že je shrnutá jeho poezie, jakož i aspekty jeho identity, které se v jeho poezii promítají. Příspěvek této práce spočívá v možnosti poznání významu kulturní identity arabské a islámské společnosti a dopadu umění, v němž jsou prvky této kulturní identity implementovány, na politický život Středního východu.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to acquaint readers with the life and work of one of the most prominent contemporary poets, Tamím al-Barghouthi. This work will provide information about the most important events in lives of his parents, both intelectuals and literates, further his own biography and then analyze a part of his love and political poetry. The thesis is divided into three main parts, which are the author's biography and his love and political poetry. In the second and third part, the thesis deals with the analysis of individual poems and makes it possible to understand them.Tamim al-Barghouthi writes in classical arabic language as well as in the colloquial language of Palestine and Egypt. While his love poetry is mostly in classical arabic, his political poetry diversify between colloquial and classical arabic language. This thesis provides insight into his work and analyses characteristics of both, love and political poetry, as well as palestinian colloquial poetry and egyptian colloquial poetry. In conclusion, the overall of his poetry was adressed, as well as aspects of his identity that are projected within his poetry. The contribution of this work lies in the possibility of learning the importance of cultural identity of Arabic and Islamic society and the impact of art, in which elements of this cultural identity is implemented, on the political life of Middle East.
