Presentation layer of KPMG Smart Data Extraction

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem storytellingu a návrhem dashboardu jako prezentační vrstvy nástroje pro vytěžování nestrukturovaného textu KPMG Smart Data Extraction. Pro uvedení do problematiky je nejprve popsán vědní obor data science a to s ohledem na vymezení nutných pojmů, historii a současný stav oboru. Dále se práce soustředí na samotný storytelling s důrazem na vizualizaci, kde popisuje základní principy pro efektivní vizualizaci dat a sdílení informací, a to s přesahem do biologie a kognitivní psychologie. V části věnované samotnému příběhu je kladen důraz především na efektivní předávání smysluplných informací a poznatků. V praktické části je cílem vytvoření prezentační vrstvy ve smyslu dashboardů pro konkrétní aplikaci za využití popsaných teoretických principů tak, aby efektivně zobrazovala relevantní informace dle potřeb jejich uživatelů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of storytelling and the design of a dashboard as a presentation layer of the KPMG Smart Data Extraction tool for extracting unstructured text. To introduce the topic, the field of data science is first described with respect to the definition of the necessary terms, the history, and the current state of the field. Next, the paper focuses on storytelling itself, with an emphasis on visualization, describing the basic principles for effective data visualization and information sharing, with overlaps into biology and cognitive psychology. In the section on the story itself, the focus is primarily on the effective communication of meaningful information and knowledge. In the practical part, the aim is to create a presentation layer in the sense of dashboards for a specific application, using the theoretical principles described above, to effectively display relevant information according to the needs of their users.
