Presentation of Definite and Indefinite Articles in studio d and Opportunities

Abstract:

This work investigates how the German textbook studio d und the English textbook Opportunities present uses of definite and indefinite articles. It examines and compares textbooks whether there has not been made a mistake made by the German textbook by insufficient presentation of the articles. The work has found out that both textbooks have their strengths and weaknesses and that the reason for different presentation of the articles in studio d is the substantially prevailing communicative method that relies on the implicit presentation of grammatical rules through phrases and vocabulary. The work points out that there are several things whose change would contribute to greater efficiency of the presentation of uses of the definite and indefinite articles which are problematic for Czech students of German.

Abstract:

Tato práce zkoumá to, jak je v německé učebnici studio d a v anglické učebnici Opportunities vyučováno použití určitých a neurčitých členů . Zkoumá a porovnává dané učebnice, zda nedošlo k pochybení na straně německé učebnice v nedostatečném vyučování členů. Práce zjistila, že obě dvě učebnice mají své slabé a silné stránky, a že důvodem pro odlišný výskyt členů v studio d je především výrazně převažující komunikativní metoda, která spoléhá na implicitní představení gramatických pravidel skrze fráze a slovní zásobu. Práce podotýká, že existuje několik věcí, jejichž změna by přispěla ke větší efektivitě vyučování použití určitých a neurčitých členů, které je problematické pro české studenty německého jazyka.
