Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce se zabývá překladatelskou analýzou románu Geisha of Gion od autorek Mineko Iwasaki a Rande Brown. Součástí práce je analýza zdrojové a cílové kultury a unikátních kulturních konceptů v textu. Překladatelská strategie použitá pro překlad dvou kapitol románu se zakládá na teoriích Lawrence Venutiho a Marie Tymoczko.
Abstract:
This thesis offers an analysis of the novel Geisha of Gion by Mineko Iwasaki and Rande Brown. It includes an analysis of the source and target cultures. An important part of the thesis is the definition of signature concepts present in the text. The translation strategy is based on the theories of Lawrence Venuti and Maria Tymoczko.
