Urban structure and economic performance of their functions

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou zkoumání ekonomické náročnosti urbánních struktur. Práce vychází z typologie prostorových struktur sídel (jako jsou centrum, bloková zástavba, sídlištní zástavba, rezidenční suburbie atd.) a jejich základních charakteristik. Na souboru osmi velkých měst v České republice zkoumá ekonomickou náročnost jednotlivých typů těchto urbánních struktur z pohledu zajištění jejich fungování ve struktuře města, nároky, které ten který typ prostorové struktury klade na veřejné i soukromé rozpočty a v závěru komparuje efektivitu jednotlivých typů urbánních prostorových struktur z ekonomického hlediska.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the examination of the economic performance of urban structures. The thesis is based on the typology of spatial structures of settlements (such as centre, block area, housing estates, residential suburbs, etc.) and their basic characteristics. On the set of the eight major cities in the Czech Republic, the thesis examines the economic performance of each of these types of urban structures from the perspective of ensuring their functioning in the structure of the city, claims that the type of spatial structure puts on both public and private budgets. It the end compares the effectiveness of different types of urban spatial structures from an economic point of view.
