The use of literary texts in Spanish language teaching: A proposal of didactic material that complements the textbook Nuevo Ven 1

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the use of literary texts in the language teaching. The first part of the thesis defines the theoretical basis of the given area, which first describes and uses all language skills in foreign language lessons. It also focuses on the types of reading and didactics of this receptive speech skills. Big attention is paid to the concept of literature, to individual literary genres and to the discussion of the suitability of this tool in language learning. The second part analyzes the use of literary texts in the textbook of the Spanish language Nuevo Ven 1, which is intended for beginners and slightly advanced students. The results of the examination confirmed the minimal presence of these texts in the publication, which led to the intention to supplement the textbook about the didactic material, the essence of which is the original literary texts. Subsequently, worksheets are created, which are divided into four teaching units with the aim of effectively working with the literary texts of significant Spanish-speaking authors and suggesting appropriate exercises. The last part of the thesis supplements the individual teaching units with the necessary information for the educators, such as the thematic focus of the class, the organization of the class, the methodological procedures and the objectives of the accompanying activities.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou využívání literárních textů ve výuce cizích jazyků. První část práce vymezuje teoretický základ dané oblasti, což představuje nejdříve popis a použití všech řečových dovedností v hodinách cizích jazyků. Dále se zaměřuje na druhy četby a didaktiku této receptivní řečové dovednosti. Velká pozornost je věnována konceptu literatury, jednotlivým literárním žánrům a diskuzi nad vhodností tohoto nástroje při studiu jazyků. Druhá část práce analyzuje použití literárních textů v učebnici španělského jazyka Nuevo Ven 1, která je určena začátečníkům a mírně pokročilým studentům. Výsledky zkoumání potvrdily minimální přítomnost těchto textů v publikaci, což vedlo k záměru doplnit učebnici o didaktický materiál, jehož podstatu tvoří originální literární texty. Následně jsou vytvořeny pracovní listy, které se rozdělují do čtyř výukových jednotek, jejichž cílem je efektivně pracovat s literárními texty významných španělsky mluvících autorů a navrhnout vhodná cvičení. Poslední část práce doplňuje jednotlivé výukové jednotky o nezbytné informace pro pedagogy, například tematické zaměření hodiny, organizace třídy či metodické postupy a cíle doprovodných aktivit.
