Costs of sugar beet cultivation in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá náklady na pěstování řepy cukrové. Jejím hlavním cílem je vyhodnotit vývoj a změny nákladů na pěstování zkoumané komodity v České republice. Teoretická část práce obsahuje základní charakteristiku řepy cukrové, její základní agrotechniku a ekonomiku pěstování. Analytická část práce je zaměřena na formování nabídky na světovém, evropském a českém trhu. Dále se zaměřuje na strukturu a vývoj nákladů pěstování řepy cukrové v České republice a zkoumaném podniku. Pro vyhodnocení jejich vývoje byla využita metoda komparace pomocí řetězových indexů. Z provedené analýzy světové nabídky vyplynulo, že během sledovaného období let 1961–2020 vzrostla celosvětová produkce řepy cukrové ze 160,5 mil. t na 253,0 mil. t, což je nárůst o 57,6 %. Největší měrou se na celosvětové produkci řepy cukrové podílela Evropa. Dále bylo zjištěno, že celkové náklady na pěstování řepy cukrové v období let 2011–2020 vzrostly o 20,6 %.

Abstract:

This Diploma thesis deals with the cost of sugar beet cultivation. Its main aim is to evaluate the development and changes in the costs of cultivation the commodity examined in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the work contains the basic characteristics of sugar beet, its basic agricultural technology and economics of cultivation. The analytical part of the work is focused on supply formation on the world, European and Czech market. It also focuses on the structure and development of sugar beet cultivation costs in the Czech Republic and the selected enterprise. The method of comparison using chain indices was used to evaluate their development. The analysis of world supply showed that during the period 1961–2020 world sugar beet production increased from 160,5 million tonnes to 253 million tonnes, which is an increase of 57,6%. Europe was the largest producer to world sugar beet production. Furthermore, it was found that the total cost of sugar beet cultivation in the period 2011-2020 increased by 20.6%.
