Abstract:

Tato absolventská práce je zaměřena na přijetí dítěte s Downovým syndromem do rodiny. Narození dítěte je velkou rodinnou událostí, avšak při narození dítěte s postižením může jít o stresovou událost a je potřeba se k celé situaci postavit čelem. Nejprve se zde zaměřuji na jasné vysvětlení Downova syndromu, proč a jak vzniká a jak se projevuje. Jak se dítě vyvíjí a co mají rodiče očekávat do budoucna. Po vysvětlení základních pojmů a typických rysů se přesouváme k prenatální diagnostice, abychom poznali možnosti a spolehlivost testování. Tento okamžik je důležitý v následném procesu přijetí dítěte. Následně zde uvádím kapitolu prvotních reakcí jak rodiny, tak okolí. Jak těžce se vyrovnává s reakcemi a jaké můžou způsobit problémy. K tomu nám pomůže nahlédnutí do osobních příběhů. Nakonec se dostáváme k samotnému procesu přijetí dítěte, k možným problémům, jak to může ovlivnit vztah partnerů a role sourozenců. Na závěr sdílím dva příběhy rodin s dětmi s Downovým syndromem, které potvrzují a podporují některá fakta představená v první části práce.

Abstract:

This graduate thesis is focused on the acceptation of a child with Down syndrome into the family. The birth of a child is a big family event, but the birth of a child with a disability can be a stressful event and you need to face the whole situation head on. First, I focus here on a clear explanation of Down syndrome, why and how it arises and how it manifests itself. How the child develops and what parents should expect in the future. After explaining the basic terms and typical features, we move on to prenatal diagnosis to learn the possibilities and reliability of testing. This moment is important in the subsequent process of adopting the child. Subsequently, I present a chapter on the initial reactions of both the family and the environment. How difficult it is to cope with the reactions and what problems they can cause. A look at personal stories will help us to do this. Finally, we come to the very process of adopting a child, to possible problems, how it can affect the relationship of partners and the roles of siblings. In conclusion, share two stories of families with children with Down syndrome that confirm and support some of the facts presented in the first part of this work.
