The cat did it!

Abstract:

They are a source of resistance for their appearance and for fear of harming us or our property. However, through fear and disgust, our aversion to insects and spiders may be more of a learned trait. My bachelor's thesis deals with insects and their sound expression, as a tool suitable for creating audio-visual art. I work with live insects, crickets, which I have been close to since my childhood, which is a period when usually aversion to them has not yet been built. The terrarium, as an object designed to keep nature in the interior, became the core of my glass objects. In addition to the terrarium full of crickets, the objects are accompanied by animation and the sound of the crickets themselves.

Abstract:

Sú zdrojom odporu pre ich vzhľad a zo strachu, že ublížia nám alebo nášmu majetku. Skrz strach a znechutenie však môže byť naša averzia voči hmyzu a pavúkom skôr len naučená vlastnosť. Moja bakalárska práca sa zaoberá hmyzom a ich zvukovými vyjadrovacími prostriedkami, ako s nástrojom vhodným k tvorbe audio-vizuálneho umenia. Pracujem s živým hmyzom, cvrčkami, ku ktorým som mal blízko už od detstva. Je to obdobie, kedy sa averzia k nim ešte u väčšiny nestihla vybudovať. Terárium, ako objekt určený k prechovávaniu prírody v interiéri, sa stal jadrom mojich sklenených objektov. Okrem terária plného cvrčkov, objekty sprevádza aj animácia a zvuk cvrčkov samotných.
