Tato práce se zabývá nejstaršími tělocvičnými spolky v Brně, jednotou Sokol Brno I a jejím německým protějškem Brünner Turnverein. V období krátce před druhou světovou válkou sleduje a porovnává jejich vývoj a rovněž na jejich základě zkoumá některé jevy typické pro období konce První republiky. Abstract:
The thesis traces early history of Czech Sokol and German Turnverein gymnastics movements in Brno. It studies the movements’ development in the period before World War II and contextualizes it with some particular phenomena of First Czechoslovak Republic Era.
