Activity board specifically designed and made for a child with a sensory deficit

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na problematiku senzorického deficitu u předčasně narozeného dítěte a specificky navrženou activity board, zapojenou do autoterapie dítěte v jeho domácím prostředí. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena popis předčasného porodu a s tím spojených charakteristik předčasně narozeného dítěte. Vdalší kapitole je popsán psychomotorický vývoj dítěte. Následná kapitola popisuje ergoterapii v pediatrii a s tím spojenou hru. Kapitoly senzorické integrace a bazální stimulace jsou v práci popsány z důvodu využití těchto konceptů při terapii s activity board. V praktické části je popsána kazuistika probanda. V kapitolách je popsána výroba activity board, volba komponentů, autoterapie a popis dotazníku. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je snížení senzorického deficitu probanda po jeho interakci s activity board. Dále byl stanoven cíl vedlejší, kterým je podpora rozvoje hrubě motorických funkcí skrze motivaci dítěte do vyšších pozic při hře s activity board. Hlavní cíl byl zobjektivizován dotazníkem Infant/Toddler Sensory Profile a z výsledků vyplynulo snížení senzorického deficitu, tudíž lze cíl považovat za splněný. Vedlejší cíl byl zhodnocen subjektivně a bez objektivizace ho lze také považovat za splněný.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of sensory deficit in a premature baby and a specifically designed activity board, involved in the child's autotherapy in his home environment. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the description of premature birth and the associated characteristics of a premature baby. The next chapter describes the psychomotor development of the child. The following chapter describes deals with occupational therapy in paediatrics and the associated play. This thesis describes sensory integration and basal stimulation due to the use of these concepts in activity board therapy. The practical part describes a case study. The chapters deal with the production of the activity board, the choice of components, autotherapy and a description of the questionnaire. The main goal of the bachelor thesis is to reduce the sensory deficit of the child through its interaction with the activity board. Furthermore, a secondary goal was set, which is to support the development of gross motor functions by motivating the child to higher positions when playing with an activity board. The main goal was objectified by the Infant / Toddler Sensory Profile questionnaire and the results showed a reduction in the sensory deficit, so the goal can be considered fulfilled. The secondary goal was evaluated subjectively and without objectification it can also be considered fulfilled.
