Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Význam letních táborů a víkendových volnočasových akcí pro mládež a dospělé v životě účastníků virtuální hry Pentagramus“ zkoumá motivaci účastníků navštěvovat volnočasové akce a jimi popsanou změnu kvality jejich života. Teoretická část shrnuje historii komunity, její návaznost na skauting a souvislost s LARP a roleplayingem. Dále také popisuje spojitost mezi skautskými principy a sociální pedagogikou. Teoretická část se také zabývá významem virtuálního světa pro dnešní společnost, významem fikce a hry pro seberealizaci člověka a utváření osobní identity díky hře. Praktická část mapuje motivaci konkrétních účastníků navštěvovat volnočasové akce, srazy a tábory v návaznosti na několikaletou virtuální zkušenost a přináší náhled na skutečnost, jak se změnila kvalita života účastníků v letech díky portálu Pentagramus a jeho reálnému volnočasovému programu. Cílem celé práce je zmapovat a podrobně popsat motivaci účastníků navštěvovat volnočasové akce a její změny v průběhu let, dále pak celkový smysl komunity pro životy účastníků a následnou možnou změnu kvality života.

Abstract:

The thesis “The importance of summer camps and weekend free-time events for the young and adults in the lives of the participants of the online roleplaying game Pentagramus” studies the motivation of participants to attend free-time events and a subsequent change in their quality of life, as presented by them. The theoretical part sums up the history of the Pentagramus community, its ties to scouting as well as LARP and roleplaying in general. It also describes the connection between the scout movement principles and social pedagogy. The theoretical part also follows the importance of virtual reality and virtual worlds for today’s society, the importance of fiction and game-playing for a person’s self-realization and the building of one’s character and identity through game-playing. The empirical part maps the motivation of specific participants to attend aforementioned free-time events (weekend events as well as summer camps) following several years of virtual experience and brings a view of how the participant’s quality of life changed in years thanks to the Pentagramus.com online portal and its real free-time programme. The goal of this thesis is to map and thoroughly describe the motivation of participants to visit the free-time events as well as changes in this motivation throughout the years, the entire importance of this community in the lives of its members and a subsequent change in their quality of life.
