Období transformace po roce 1989 s sebou přineslo zásadní změny v oblasti bydlení a bytové politiky, výraznou změnou prošla také struktura bytového fondu. Stát svými zásahy přímo ovlivňuje bydlení pomocí nástrojů bytové politiky. The transition period after 1989 had brought about major changes in housing and housing policy. The structure of the housing had undergone a significant change also. The state directly affects housing by its housing policy instruments.
